The aim of this game mode is to retrieve more categories than your opponent, for which you will have a total of seven attempts.
To start a game in Tower Duel, you need to press the Play Now! button displayed on the main screen of the game and select the Tower Duel option.
Before the game begins, you will have the opportunity to:
- Choose the language of the game and review its instructions by selecting the gear icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen.
- Invite friends to download the application or challenge those who already have it. You can swipe the bar to the left to see all your possible opponents.
If you prefer to face a random opponent, just press Play.
Once inside the game screen, you will see two towers: one belongs to your opponent and the other to you. At the bottom of the screen you will find six boxes that represent each of the game's categories: History, Science, Geography, Art, Entertainment and Sports.
To compete for a category you will have to tap on its box, you will then be offered questions and the goal is to get the most correct answers in a row. If you get more correct answers than your opponent, you will receive the character of that category and it will be added to your tower. If you answer incorrectly, your streak will be cut short and you will lose an attempt.
Although the duel will be won by the player who has acquired the most categories, it's possible that the game could end sooner, by Checkmate. You can read more about this in the article Why did the Tower Duel end in Checkmate?
You will win a category when you achieve a longer streak of correctly answered questions than your opponent. Keep in mind that you can use your attempts as many times as you want in each category, which means that as you win characters, your opponent can play that category again to try to take it away from you.
In the event of a tie in characters when the time is up, the player who got the most correct questions overall wins.
Remember that, over the course of the duel, you can win or lose medals, depending on your ability to answer the questions correctly. To better understand how medals work, we invite you to visit the following article: What are the medals and what are they for?
